Which Shingle Is Right For Your Home?

It is our goal at Mosaic Roofing Co to educate you, the home owner, about the different grades and qualities of roofing materials so you can make an informed decision when you are ready to have your new roof installed.
Here is a list of common roofing material manufacturers that we recommend to homeowners in Colorado:
OWENS CORNING®
GAF®
Founded in 1938, manufacturing roofing materials in Denver, CO.
  • Oakridge®: a common builder grade 30 year architectural shingle with good looks and performance.
  • TruDefinition® Duration®: a higher quality architectural shingle than Oakridge® with patented Shurenail® technology. Available in many standard and designer colors – one of our most popular shingle choices
  • TrueDefinition® Duration Storm®: a “Class 4” impact resistant architectural shingle offering all of the qualities of the Duration shingle and Class 4* impact resistance. These shingles can help homeowners with reduced insurance premiums with select carriers.
Founded in 1886, GAF is one of America’s oldest building materials manufacturers
  • Timberline®: “worth America’s #1 selling shingle” is a good quality architectural shingle offering many color options
  • Timberline HD®: a higher quality architectural shingle with more “definition” using bold shadow lines for a pronounced look on your home with great performance.
*Currently the highest class of asphalt shingles is the class 4 shingle which will carry at least the U.L. 2218 steel ball listing. The class 4 shingle is tested with a 2” steel ball that strikes the same area twice. This ball is dropped from a distance of 20’. The class 4 product must show no evidence of punctures, tears, cracks, splits, ruptures on top or bottom. In addition, this product will be observed with 5x magnification to ensure that it has passed the test.
